Friars' Blend - SPECIAL RELEASE
Company founder Nathan Westwick has been a San Diego Padres fan ever since his college days at UCSD, regularly going to Jack Murphy/Qualcomm to watch Tony Gwynn dominate pitcher after pitcher. He was there live when Gwynn broke up a Greg Maddux no-hitter in the bottom of the ninth with two outs; cheered on Ken Caminiti's MVP season in 1996; and celebrated the Friars' World Series birth in 1998.
30 years later, he is still a devoted Friar Faithful.
After learning the art of coffee roasting from Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, Nathan started Wild Goose Coffee Roasters in Redlands, CA in 2008. With the Padres' recent magic delivering major blows to their big-city rivals, this special blend was created to commemorate this incredible postseason run.
In the cup you will enjoy bold yet complex flavors, and a buttery-sweet finish.
Not unlike Gwynn's swing, and not unlike this season.
And this coffee, like all of our coffees, provides 10 lbs of food to a local food bank for every pound sold.
We hope you enjoy.
